a list of what I think are the best Beatlesongs

(note: I haven't listened to Beatles for Sale or Let It Be in their entirety yet so uh my apologies if your favorite songs from those albums aren't on my list)

1. A Day in the Life
2. Strawberry Fields Forever
3. Hello Goodbye
4. She Said She Said
5. I Wanna Hold Your Hand
6. Getting Better
7. A Hard Day's Night
8. Ticket to Ride
9. All Your Need is Love
10. Happiness is a Warm Gun
11. Helter Skelter
12. Taxman
13. Here Comes the Sun
14. The Abbey Road Medley
15. Lovely Rita
16. Maxwell's Silver Hammer
17. All My Lovin'
18. Love Me Do
19. I Saw Her Standing There
20. I Am the Walrus

Note that these songs are ranked pretty highly for me, so if you're wondering why "I Am the Walrus" is below more of Paul's granny music, note that the Beatles offer stiff competition amongst even themselves. And to me, Paul's granny music did hint at a lot of the proggyness of his solo career - have you heard "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" recently? It's oddly really artsy for a joke song about a serial-killing medical student.

I was gonna make a joke and put "Octopus' Garden" in all the slots (and subsequently state that "Octopus' Garden" erases all songs), but joking about Ringo's stuff is so passé nowadays. Dude's a great drummer - inb4 John quote - and pushed common time to its limits. Having a Bill Bruford or a Guy Evans in the band would merely showboat the band and distract us from how solid the core songs are. Suck it down, Paw-formerly-of-Channel-Awesome.

And yes, the Rutles are superior to the Beatles.
